I stumbled upon a one-of-a-kind strand of these spectacular rare sapphire teardrops. Each drop is a different color and all are unfired and beautifully faceted and polished. I'm obsessed with this organic state of gemstones with visible striations. In geology, a striation is a groove, created by a geological process, on the surface of a rock or a mineral. The striation's direction reveals the movement direction in the fault plane. Also the tiny foam like bubbles is witness to how the stone was formed over time. Heating sapphires removes all signs of it natural organic state and then it's only appreciated for its rich color. These flaunt gorgeous color and life line.
